A former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, will inaugurate the Sokoto State University on Tuesday, the Chairman of the inauguration committee, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, said.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria in Sokoto on Monday that Abubakar was expected to perform the task during a one-day official visit to the state.
Aliyu, who is the Sokoto State Commissioner for Health, said the former head of state would inspect the ongoing N3.8bn, 38 megawatt state Independent Power Project during the visit.
Abubakar, the inauguration chairman added, would also inspect the ongoing construction of the multi-billion naira modern abattoir project in Sokoto.
According to him, the event will be attended by the Speaker, House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, some serving state governors and former governors of the state, among other dignitaries.
