14-Yr-Old Daughter Secretly Films Father On Webcam During Defilement

A man accused of sexually assaulting his own daughter for a period of many months has been arrested in the southern French town of Florensac after the 14-year-old girl had the presence of mind to secretly film an attack using a webcam.

The girl, aged 14, used a webcam on her computer to film the abuse, in Florensac, a town in the southern Hérault department.

The footage is now a key piece of evidence in the case.

Details of the abuse were revealed through the girl’s school counselor at the beginning of September.

But it was not until after the abuse was captured on camera that police had enough evidence to arrest the father.

As a result, the defendant was questioned last Tuesday and placed in detention in Béziers prison.

“My client acknowledges the facts,” the suspect’s lawyer Mathieu Montfort was quoted as saying.

“There was a period when he was unemployed and in the middle of a divorce.

He insists that these acts did not stretch back further than three or four months.

His daughter says longer. But everyone should be very careful in what they say.”

The girl herself, meanwhile, has been moved to a women’s shelter for her own protection.

“The victim was placed in a shelter as a matter of urgency,” confirmed a representative from the Public Prosecutor’s Department.

“We have to avoid potential pressure from the family of this child who was abused and filmed.

“We are afraid of the violence of this man who is downplaying the facts despite the video and who, moreover, explained that he took no pleasure from abusing his own daughter and that he was just messing around.”

Investigators also need to clarify whether the girl’s mother, who also allegedly suffered abuse by her husband, was aware that her daughter was being abused.

This isn’t the first time in recent weeks that France has been haunted by the spectre of family members sexually assaulting each other.

In September, 25-year-old Sabrina Bonner was handed a 20-year jail term for holding down her four-year-old son while his stepfather defiled him repeatedly during a prison visit.

Two Women Abduct 33-Year-Old Man, And Defile Him

A 33-year-old man was allegedly held at gunpoint and forced to have s*x with a woman in the backseat of a car after the woman’s female companion offered him a ride on the Near North Side over the summer.

The man begged one of his tormentors — who demanded he place his hands on her br**sts and buttocks during the July 26 attack — to stop, it was reported.

He eventually escaped, running out of the car unclad from the waist down and into a taxi where a cabbie helped him and drove him home to the suburbs, in Chicago.

The man had been walking in the 400 block of North Kingsbury early that morning when 25-year-old Cierra Ross allegedly pulled up to him and offered to give him a ride.

While she was driving, Ross pulled out a black revolver and ordered the man, who was in the passenger seat, to get in the back and have s*x with her friend.

The woman in the backseat demanded that he take off his clothes and the man complied by taking off his shoes, pants and underwear before he was assaulted.

The two women also took $200 from the man, his credit cards and iPhone, according to a police report.

Man kills friend over alleged affair with wife

The police in Ogun have arrested a 30-year-old panel beater, Wasiu Yusuf, for allegedly stabbing his friend, Adeolu Olatoye, to death in Abeokuta.

Another suspect in the alleged killing of the 32-year-old graphic artist, Mukaila Popoola, is currently on the run.

The suspect’s wife, 26-year-old Busayo, is also in detention at the Adatan Police Station.

The victim, the suspect and his alleged accomplice lived in the same premises before the incident.

Our correspondent gathered that Adeolu was allegedly killed by Yusuf and his accomplice in their residence in the Oke-Efon area of Abeokuta for allegedly having an affair with his wife.

Olatoye was said to have met his death barely two weeks after he named his new born child. The victim was also said to be making preparations for his mother’s 80th birthday.

Police sources disclosed that during interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to attacking the deceased when he visited his wife in their matrimonial home.

The suspect was said to have further claimed that the victim mistakenly stabbed himself during a scuffle between them while attempting to escape from his room.

But an eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, claimed that Olatoye had gone to his friend’s room on the middle floor of the two-storey building to give him an invitation card for his mother’s 80th birthday scheduled to hold on Saturday when the suspect allegedly attacked him with broken bottles.

The deceased’s elder brother, Akinyemi Olatoye, also insisted that his late brother had gone to his alleged attacker’s home to drop a copy of the invitation card for their mother’s birthday.

Akinyemi said his deceased brother and the suspect were bossom friends.

Confirming the incident, the acting State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the police were investigating the incident.

He said, “Information at our disposal is that the suspect met the deceased on his wife inside their room.”

EFCC, ICPC scared to probe Oduah — Investigation

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission are at a crossroads over the investigation into the purchase of N255m bullet-proof cars for the embattled Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, SUNDAY PUNCH can authoritatively report.

Oduah on Thursday had denied that the NCAA bought the two bulletproof cars for her use, adding that they were bought for the use of the guests of her ministry.

Our correspondents gathered on Friday that the EFCC and ICPC were reluctant to invite the minister for questioning because of her close relationship to President Goodluck Jonathan. Oduah emerged one of the President’s closest aides following the significant role she played in Jonathan’s 2011 election campaign.

There have been reports that the two anti-graft agencies are investigating Oduah’s role in the controversial vehicle purchase.

However, SUNDAY PUNCH learnt that none of the two anti-graft agencies had made progress in its investigation.

A senior official of the ICPC, who spoke to SUNDAY PUNCH over the weekend, blamed the slow pace of investigation on what he described as the “body language of the President.”

The source, who pleaded anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, said, “If the President wants us to probe her, there would be no need for him to set up a three-man panel to probe her. Why set up a panel when the nation has capable anti-graft agencies?

“Ordinarily, the President should have asked us to take over the case instead of constituting his own panel. If you watch his body language, you will know that he does not want us to step in.

“We will wait for the report of the panel and the final report of the House of Representatives. That is when we will know what to do. The truth is that we are not fully autonomous anti-graft agencies and that is a major handicap.”

Our correspondents also gathered that the EFCC was treading carefully and had no plan to invite Oduah to its Abuja office for questioning. A senior agency official who pleaded anonymity said the agency “did not want to incur the wrath of the President”.

The reliable source said, “We are doing our best in this situation but this is a peculiar situation because the President has asked his committee to investigate her. Even though we don’t need the President’s directive based on the public outcry but the formation of that three-man panel passes a subtle message. We are also waiting for the report of the House and the President’s panel even though we are questioning the aviation agencies.”

Meanwhile on Monday, Oduah is to appear before the three-man administrative panel set up by Jonathan to investigate the scandal.

Jonathan had, in the wake of public outcry over the matter penultimate Wednesday, constituted the panel headed by a former Head of Service of the Federation, Mr. Isa Bello.

Other members of the panel are the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), and Air Vice Marshal Dick Iruenebere (retd.).

Bello told SUNDAY PUNCH exclusively on Friday that the panel had contacted Oduah and that the minister would appear before members on Monday to answer questions bothering on the purchase of the cars.

The former HOS faulted media reports that the committee, which has two weeks to carry out its assignment, had not met since it was set up.

“Whoever told you that we have not met told you a blatant lie. We have been meeting and we will meet with the minister on Monday,” he said.

Bello also told one of our correspondents that the committee’s two-week deadline would expire November 11.

He said although the announcement about the committee was made penultimate Wednesday, their letters of appointment were dated October 28, hence their timeline would start from that date.

“It is not true that our deadline started running from penultimate Wednesday. Our letter of appointment was dated October 28, so it could not have been last Wednesday. You don’t just listen to (the details of) appointment on television or radio,” he explained.

In announcing the establishment of the committee penultimate Wednesday, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, had said members were expected to ascertain whether the procurement of the vehicles followed due process.

SUNDAY PUNCH also learnt that the committee had been holding its sessions behind closed doors in the office of the National Security Adviser which serves as the committee’s secretariat.

In a related development, the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is to appear before the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation on Monday.

The committee is investigating the purchase of N255m BMW bulletproof cars ahead of the report of the probe.

The committee took the decision following Thursday’s clarification by Okonjo-Iweala that she did not grant any waiver for the importation of the controversial bulletproof cars.

The panel, which was given one week to conduct the investigation, had wound down its public sitting on Thursday after drilling Oduah for several hours.

However, it said on Friday that the report would have to incorporate the testimonies of Okonjo-Iweala.

A member of the panel, Mr. Zakari Mohammed, told naijaswap in Abuja that it had resolved to hear the finance minister on Monday.

He added that writing the report would come after hearing the coordinating minister of the economy.

Mohammed, who doubles as the spokesman of the House, explained that the committee could still meet the one-week deadline.

He spoke further, “It is true that we were given one week for this assignment. However, the one week is counted as sitting days.

“We have sat three times; meaning three days out of seven days. We plan to take the finance minister on Monday; that will be four days out of seven.

“We will have three days left; so, we are still within schedule.

“The minister made a statement that she did not grant waivers for the bulletproof cars.

“That is interesting. Let her come before us to clarify the statement and to explain the nature of the waiver she granted.”

Okonjo-Iweala stated on Thursday that she only granted waiver to the Lagos State Government to import 300 vehicles for the hosting of the National Sports Feastival (EKO Games) last year.

The statement, which was signed by her Special Adviser, Mr. Paul Nwabuikwu, noted that the waiver did not cover bulletproof cars.

The Nigerian Customs Service had informed the panel that the Federal Government lost N10.1million revenue as a result of the waiver.

It disclosed that it later discovered that the bulletproof cars were among the vehicles Coscharis imported. Coscharis had told to the panel that it got a waiver but gave no satisfactory answers on how the bulletproof cars were included on the list.

A 28-year-old housewife, Bola Shakiru, has been charged before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, with pouring urine on her neighbour, Mary Chijioke.
Shakiru is facing a two-count charge of assault and malicious damage.
Speaking in court on Friday, prosecutor, Cpl. Femi Adeleye, told the court that the accused committed the offence at her No. 10 Sanusi St., Ejigbo, Lagos residence.
Adeleye said: “the accused conducted herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by pouring urine on Mary Chijioke”.
According to him, the accused maliciously damaged the louvre blades on the window, and the net on the door of the apartment of the complainant.

The Nigeria Police has described the photograph, which showed a senior police officer in the act of fondling the chest of an unknown lady, as fake. It said the picture, which went viral on the Internet, was deliberately fabricated with the aid of Adobe Photoshop technology to mislead the public.


The alleged amorous scene, the police authorities claimed, did not take place and the officer had nothing to do with the woman.
The police said it arrived at this conclusion after interrogating the policeman, who was seen in the type of uniform worn by officers of the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.
On the official Facebook page of the police, the affected police officer was quoted as saying, “I don’t know this lady. I never took the picture with her.”
However, the authorities did not name the police officer nor give the details of the command where he is serving.
The police said that though it does not forbid its rank and file to pose with members of the public for photographs, it would not tolerate any display of affection for the opposite s*x in full public glare.
“An image showing one of our officers in a compromising position with a lady has gone viral. Please check the hands in the so-called picture that is in circulation and you will agree that they were photo-shopped.
“Other citizens of this country are encouraged to pose for snapshots with our uniformed officers if they so desire, just as it is done worldwide. What we discourage is public display of affection by our uniformed officers,” it said.
After it appeared online, the controversial photograph provoked widespread condemnation from many Nigerians who have described the development as an act of indiscipline.
Claiming to be policemen, some people wrote on the police Facebook page that the phot0graph was the handiwork of mischief makers, who were clearly determined to drag the name of the security agency in mud.
They said that no uniformed officer of the rank of ACP would  be so careless as to pose for a photograph in such a compromising position with a lady.
One Oluwasegun Samuel-Alalade commented on the wall of the Facebook page. “I know it is not real. Even a fresh recruit undergoing training at the Police College will not do such a thing, not to mention a top ranking officer. The Nigeria Police Force should kindly disregard the photograph, “ he wrote.

Justice Olutoyin Ipaye, Thursday, ordered that 53-year-old Iwena should be kept behind bars pending the determination of his bail application fixed for 11 November.
Iwena, who lives at 1, Otuyelu St., Oke-Ira in Ogba, Lagos, is being tried on a three-count charge bordering on fraud and issuance of dud cheques by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the accused, who entered a plea of not guilty, is charged alongside his company — Tonad Publishing Ltd.

Counsel to the EFCC, Mr M.K. Bashir, alleged that the accused committed the offences sometime between October 14 and 21, 2010 at Mushin.
He said Iwena issued three Union Bank cheques for the sum of N13.05 million in favour of Star Chem Industries Ltd.
The cheques were dishonoured on presentation at the bank, Bashir told the court.
He said the offences contravened Section 1(1) of the Dishonoured Cheques (Offences) Act, Laws of the Federation, 2004.

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 32-year-old convict, Kingsley Chibuzor, for snatching over 20 cars between 2011 and 2013.
Chibuzor, was said to have escaped few months into his sentence from the Kirikiri Medium Prison in 2011, where he was serving a term for malicious damage.
After his escape, the suspect was said to have specialised in snatching cars in Lagos, Anambra and Ebonyi states but met his waterloo when he was arrested by the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Lagos.
He was arrested alongside two members of his gang; Ozoemena Enebeli and Prince Nwafor.
He said, “I was arrested and sent to prison for malicious damage. My prison sentence was supposed to be for three years but I spent only some months there. One day, around 4am, I told a prison official to help me get kerosene and he left the door to our prison open.
“I was able to sneak into a particular area of the building and jumped over the fence. The area was dark and nobody saw me. From there, I trekked to Ojo Barracks to visit my mother but when she asked how I left prison, I did not answer her.

Police in Brazil have launched a manhunt after the severed head of a former professional footballer was left on the doorstep of his home. The horrified wife of Joao Rodrigo Silva Santos, 35, made the gruesome discovery as she left the house in Rio de Janeiro for work early yesterday morning.

The player's eyes and tongue had been cut out and his head placed inside one of his own rucksacks, police said. Mr Santos retired from football two years ago after a successful career playing for several teams in Rio de Janeiro, as well as for clubs in Sweden and Honduras.

Police said today that Mr Santos is believed to have been snatched from outside the shop he had opened in the Realengo district of Rio as he closed up at around 7.45pm on Monday.

Witnesses said they saw several men bundling him into his car, a Hyundai i30, and speeding off just before midnight, a spokesman said. He was reported missing by his wife at 9pm on Monday.

Mr Santos' brother-in-law, who didn't want to be named, told Brazil's Globo G1 website that the player's wife, Geisa Silva, 31, stayed up all night after her husband failed to arrive home.
He said: 'Every time a car passed by she would go to see.
'She was getting ready to go to work at around 5.30am when she heard a noise, opened the front door and saw his rucksack. 

'When she opened it she discovered it contained his head. 
'I did not want to look but the people who saw it said they had gouged out his eyes and cut off his tongue,' said the horrified relative.
Neighbours living close to the crime scene reported hearing a woman screaming: 'My God, it's Joao! It’s Joao’s head.'

From what I know, he didn't have any enemies and neither did his wife,' the relative added.In a statement Mr Santos' widow said the couple had not been subjected to any threats. 

Lead murder investigator Rafael Rangel from the 14th Military Police Battalion (BPM) in Rio, said witnesses saw armed men kidnap the businessman. 'We believe that the people who took him knew the family’s routine,' said Rangel.

Investigators are working on the hypothesis that Mr Santos could have been murdered by a drugs gang because of Mrs Silva's work at a military police base in a local slum.
The Police Pacification Unit in the Morro do Sao Carlos is one of dozens set up in Rio's favelas to retake control of the city's slums from violent drug traffickers.

However, according to police chief Rafael Rangel, Mrs Silva worked as a social worker in the base and didn't patrol the streets or make arrests like other police officers.
He told Brazil's O Dia newspaper the motives of the murder are still unclear.
He said: 'Mrs Silva has no idea who would have done this. Neither she, her husband or any other member of the family have suffered any type of threat as far as she knows.
'There is nothing that would justify such a barbarous crime.'
Santos did not have a police record.

Later today Brazilian police said body parts dumped beside a city river were believed to be those of Mr Santos.
The player's brother-in-law told Brazil's Globo G1 website that family members had positively identified a torso found next to the Guandu river in Queimados, greater Rio de Janeiro, by a birth mark on Mr Santos' stomach.
A police spokesman said other body parts had also been found in the area and were being DNA tested.

He said the murder bears the hallmarks of an execution by drug gangsters, but stressed that "every line of investigation" is still open.

The couple had been together for 11 years and were described as ‘lovely’ by neighbours.
'They were a happy, quiet couple,' said a neighbour, who asked not to be identified. 'But you never know what may have motivated a crime as stupid and as senseless as this.'
Mr Santos’ played as a professional footballer between 1996 and 2005 - during which he scored 33 goals in 103 matches as a striker.  Nicknamed Humble Hero, he was signed to a number of second division teams. He also played abroad for Swedish Club Oster Vaxjo  and Olimpia in Honduras.  
A recent United Nations report into drug trafficking-related crime in Brazil found that more than half of the homicides, robberies and thefts have a direct or indirect link with this criminal activity.

A man has blown himself up in front of a hotel in a Mediterranean resort town, Sousse, south of Tunis, Police sources and the official Tunisian news agency say.
The TAP news agency on Wednesday said the man, wearing a belt of explosives, was killed. It was not clear if other people were hurt or killed in the explosion in the town of Sousse, about 150km south of the capital, Tunis.
Sousse is a frequent destination for tourists.
Tunisian police also said Tuesday that they captured a man who tried to blow himself up at the tomb of Habib Bourguiba, a former president, in the town of Monastir.
Tunisia has been battling unrest since the overthrow of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali’s regime in 2011, and has seen the rise of self-declared jihadist movements.

Here in Lagos, A 37-year-old man, Babatunde Gbolahan, was yesterday arraigned before a Lagos High Court in Igbosere, for allegedly beating his wife to death.
The defendant, who was arraigned for manslaughter, pleaded not guilty to the charge instituted against him by the Police.
According to the charge, “you, Babatunde Gbolahan, committed the offence on October 13, 2009 at 9, Olatunji Street, Mushin, Lagos at 7.40p.m.”
It was gathered that the defendant had an argument with his wife, Yemisi, which led to a fight and he beat her to death with a belt and stick.
State counsel, Mr. W. A. Quadri, informed the court that the offence contravened Section 325 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, and urged the court for an adjournment to enable him produce his witness.
Presiding judge, Justice Aishat Opesanwo, subsequently, adjourned the case to December 2.

Man, 37, accused of beating wife to death

Here in Lagos, A 37-year-old man, Babatunde Gbolahan, was yesterday arraigned before a Lagos High Court in Igbosere, for allegedly beating his wife to death.
The defendant, who was arraigned for manslaughter, pleaded not guilty to the charge instituted against him by the Police.
According to the charge, “you, Babatunde Gbolahan, committed the offence on October 13, 2009 at 9, Olatunji Street, Mushin, Lagos at 7.40p.m.”
It was gathered that the defendant had an argument with his wife, Yemisi, which led to a fight and he beat her to death with a belt and stick.
State counsel, Mr. W. A. Quadri, informed the court that the offence contravened Section 325 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, and urged the court for an adjournment to enable him produce his witness.
Presiding judge, Justice Aishat Opesanwo, subsequently, adjourned the case to December 2.
